What Makes Perfect Fit Different

The thing that makes Perfect Fit unusual is that the shutter is fixed to the window itself rather than the wall around it. When you open the window, the shutter opens with it. When you tilt the window for ventilation, the shutter tilts too.

That changes a few practical things compared with a conventional shutter. Window sills stay clear because there's no outer frame eating into the recess. The shutter sits closer to the glass, so more light reaches the room and the view from inside isn't broken up by surrounding framework. And because nothing is screwed into the wall, the shutter can be lifted off in seconds when you need to paint the room or clean the inside of the glass.

What it isn't is a like-for-like replacement for a traditional shutter. Conventional plantation shutters fix to a frame around the window and the window opens behind them. Perfect Fit moves as a unit with the window. Most buyers settle on one or the other depending on whether they want the shutter to be a permanent feature of the room or a removable, low-impact alternative.

Perfect Fit is fully waterproof. The polysilk vinyl is non-porous, so direct splashes, steam and bathroom humidity don't affect the shutter. That makes it suitable for any uPVC-framed bathroom, en-suite, kitchen or utility room, wipe-clean maintenance and a 10-year warranty cover normal wet-room use.

In new builds, Perfect Fit is often the smartest specification because it doesn't drill into the uPVC frame or the surrounding wall. Many new-build contracts include warranty terms that void if window frames are drilled into. Perfect Fit clips on without breaching that, we've fitted it across hundreds of West Lothian new-builds for exactly this reason.

The shutter is also cordless by design and meets UK child-safety regulations without further hardware, which matters in family homes and rental properties.

Choose Your Configuration

Perfect Fit panels are configured per window. Most installations fall into one of three setups, but the actual layout is built around your specific window dimensions and how the panels need to open.

Single Panel

One shutter panel covering the full window. Suits standard rectangular uPVC windows up to about 800mm wide. The simplest configuration and the most common in new builds.

Two Panels

Two shutter panels meeting in the centre of the window. Suits wider windows where a single panel would be too heavy or visually overwhelming. Each panel tilts independently.

Multi-Panel for Wider Openings

Three or more panels across very wide windows or full-width patio doors. Each panel clips to its own section of the uPVC frame, and the panels open and close with the window units they're fixed to.

Handle position is set per panel based on the window setup, we'll match it to your existing window handles at the home visit so the shutter doesn't conflict with how you currently operate the window.

Choose Your Colour

Four colours, all pigmented through the polysilk vinyl so they don't yellow or chip. Cotton White is warmer and slightly creamy. Arctic White is brighter and cleaner. Beige sits between cream and stone. Light Grey is the contemporary pick, pairs well with grey-tone flooring.

Best for New Builds, Renters and Multi-Property Fits

New-build owners:

uPVC windows in new builds usually come with manufacturer warranties that void if the frames are drilled into. Perfect Fit clips on without affecting the warranty, which is why it's the go-to specification across the new-build estates we work in around Livingston, Winchburgh and East Calder.

Renters and short-term occupiers:
The shutter is genuinely removable. Take it down, take it with you, leave the windows untouched. We've fitted Perfect Fit for renters in several of the upmarket new-build rentals in West Lothian where the landlord won't allow holes drilled into walls or frames.

Landlords with multiple properties:

Same colour spec across a portfolio, fast lead times, no disruption to tenants during install (most fits take under an hour per window). Answers to common questions about our premium perfect fit shutters.

Perfect Fit clips onto the window itself, every other shutter we fit attaches to a frame around the window. It opens and closes with the window rather than staying still while the window opens behind it.

Perfect Fit needs uPVC and removes without leaving a mark. If you want a more substantial framed shutter or your windows aren't uPVC, poly vinyl, faux wood shutters or solid wood shutters is the better starting point.

No. The clips attach to the window beading without piercing the uPVC. New-build window warranties that void on drilling stay intact.

Technically yes, it unclips without leaving holes or marks. In practice the panels are made-to-measure, so they're unlikely to fit a new property's windows without modification.

Damp cloth and warm water. For deeper cleaning, mild soap. The shutter unclips entirely from the window if you want to clean both sides or get to the inside of the glass. Skip furniture polish, white spirit and solvent sprays.
