How Day & Night Blinds Work

Day & Night blinds use alternating sheer and opaque panels that slide past each other as you adjust them. This lets you control how much light enters the room without fully raising or lowering the blind.

Align the sheer sections to let in soft, diffused daylight, or overlap the opaque panels for increased privacy and glare control. It’s a simple system that gives you more flexibility than standard roller blinds.

Living Rooms

The most popular room for Day & Night blinds. You get soft daylight through the sheer panels during the day and full privacy from the street at night, without closing the room off.

For south-facing rooms, the opaque panels cut glare without darkening the space completely.

Bedrooms

Day & Night blinds reduce light but don't block it entirely, the sheer panels always let some through.

Good for bedrooms where you want gentle morning light rather than total darkness. If you need full blackout, a dedicated blackout roller is the better choice.

Street-Facing Rooms

If your front windows face a pavement or a neighbour, this is the blind that solves it.

Sheer panels let you see out while limiting what people see in. Shift to the opaque panels in the evening when lights are on inside.

Moving into a New Build?

Day & Night blinds are available in Perfect Fit frames. No drilling, no screws, clips straight into uPVC beading. If you're moving into a new build in Bathgate, Livingston or Whitburn, this is one of the most popular upgrades we fit. The finish sits flush inside the glass unit and looks factory-fitted.

A roller blind is a single piece of fabric, it's either up or down. Day & Night blinds have alternating sheer and opaque bands that slide past each other, so you can control light and privacy without raising the blind at all. They give you more flexibility but don't offer full blackout.

Yes. In a Perfect Fit frame they clip into the rubber beading of uPVC windows with no screws or brackets. This is the standard option for new builds where drilling would void the window warranty.
